About Mrs. Smith
Welcome to kindergarten! I am so pleased to be your child’s kindergarten teacher. Kindergarten is such an important developmental stage in which children gain numerous skills both academic and personal as well as maturational growth. I feel honored and privileged to work together with you to help the children reach these growth milestones!
I am a 1994 graduate of Kent State University and began my education career teaching students with special needs. In 2005 I earned Wilson Reads certification (an intensive phonics education system) and after receiving a Master of Education in 2007 from Lake Erie College, with an emphasis on reading, I worked as a Title 1 reading teacher. I have been fortunate to have spent the last 13 years of my career teaching at Royalview Elementary.
My husband and I have two wonderful children, Jack and Grace (both graduates of Royalview) and one crazy dog Trinity. We currently live in Mentor.
